Nightkettle: privacy policy

The short version

Nightkettle does not collect, receive, sell or share your personal data. There is no account and no sign-in. The app does not use analytics, advertising or tracking. What you enter is stored only on your device, in your browser's local storage for this app, and stays there until you delete it.

What the app stores, and where

The app stores the following on your device only: sleep-log entries (dates, bedtimes, wake times, optional ratings), your sleep goal, wind-down session history, bedtime-reminder settings, sound mixer levels and theme.

This data is stored under Nightkettle's keys in your browser's or app's local storage. We cannot see it, access it, back it up or recover it.

Notifications (optional): if you allow notifications, reminders are created on your device while Nightkettle is open. No push server is used and nothing is sent to us.
Audio: sounds are generated on your device with the Web Audio API. The app does not use the microphone.
Export / import: CSV and JSON exports are files you create and control. Imported files are read on your device only.

What we do not do

We do not run servers that receive your app data.
We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising IDs, fingerprinting or third-party SDKs.
We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
The app's Content Security Policy blocks connections to third-party servers.

Website hosting and app stores

Hosting: the app's files are delivered by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, it may automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and request time in server logs to deliver and secure the site. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
App stores: if you install Nightkettle from an app store (such as Google Play, Microsoft Store, Samsung Galaxy Store or Apple App Store), the store may collect data about your purchase and download under its own privacy policy. We receive only the aggregated or limited information those stores provide to developers, such as install counts and purchase records.
Payments: if you buy from us directly, the payment is processed by Gumroad (https://gumroad.com/privacy), which acts under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details needed to fulfil and support your purchase (your name, email, country and order ID).
Support emails: if you email us, we use your email and message only to reply, and keep them for up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Your choices and control

Delete your data: clear this site's data in your browser settings, or uninstall the app. This permanently deletes your data from the device.
Export: use Export CSV / JSON in the app to keep a copy.
Because we hold no app data about you, we cannot fulfil access or deletion requests for data on your device. You control it directly. For data we do hold (purchase records, support emails), contact support@appkitdemos.com.

Children

Nightkettle is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights over personal data we hold, such as purchase or support records. Contact support@appkitdemos.com. If the GDPR applies: the controller is Jarius Buie (support@appkitdemos.com). App data is stored only on your device and is not processed by us. We process purchase records to perform our contract with you and to meet legal (e.g. tax) obligations, and support emails to perform our contract or, where there is no contract, for our legitimate interest in answering your questions. You may also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.

Anything health-related you enter stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app or on this page.
